Owen’s Potty Training Adventure

Owen is doing great, almost potty trained. He tells you in advance (enough notice to walk, not run, to the bathroom), he goes straight to the potty when he wakes up, before bath time, and before bedtime. We still need to accomplish putting cacka in the potty, BUT he has had one successful time with putting cacka in the right place! I was gone the other morning for one hour, Erik was in control. Daddy was upstairs, Owen was downstairs (I’m not sure why they weren’t on the same the floor, but looking past that); Erik hears “daddy, cacka”. Erik responds “okay, buddy, let’s cacka on the potty” and the entire time thinking, here I come to dump cacka in the potty and flush it down the toilet (as we usually do). Erik gets downstairs and can’t find Owen. Oh no! Owen still yelling “daddy, cacka” and Erik hears his voice coming from the bathroom. There he sits, on the big potty! After wondering how Owen climbed on the potty, Erik takes him off and finds cacka in the potty. Oh my goodness, he really did it and he did it all by himself. Erik does his version of excitement and celebrates with Owen. Owen of course knows he gets a new toy (thanks mommy). Great news on cacka in the potty. However, in the same hour I am gone, Owen wets four pairs of shorts. WHAT? Oh and he hasn’t gone cacka in the potty since then but one time is better than never!
