Owen - Level I Swimmer

It's official, little badge and all! Owen has graduated (passed) Level I swim lessons. He is doing such a great job, that we have enrolled him for another 8 weeks. He has already completed 16 weeks.

What is Owen able to do in the water that advanced him to Level II? He can fully submerge his mouth, nose, eyes for 3 seconds. He blows bubbles and opens his eyes underwater, along with picking up a submerged object. While supported, he does a great back and front float and learned how to recovery to standing. He knows how to kick on front and back, along with different strokes (alternating arm action). He demonstrated treading water with support and also learned how to turn over from front to back/back to front while supported. Owen knows basic water safety rules and has experience with a life jacket (going from the wall into the water and going under water to floating).

Owen's favorite part of swim lessons, the slide at the end of class. Thank you Charlotte Aquatics (and Miss Tara) for being so great!
