Christmas is Approaching

There is a lot of excitement in our house with Christmas quickly approaching. Celebrating the birth of baby Jesus with a 2 1/2 and 4 year old is lots of fun, they have the best imagination!

Owen & Cammie wake every morning to find "Pillow" (aka Mr. Elf). Owen absolutely loves when he shows up in his bedroom. Next up, advent calendar. Considering Owen has pulled open each box to take a peak, he knows they all contain treats. He asks "what's today, what number is today". I tell him the date and he opens the box, eats the treat, and turns the box around to complete the pretty Christmas tree. We almost have it decorated!

Cammie's class celebrated Christmas with a cookie decorating party on Wednesday (15th) and Owen's class celebrated on Friday (17th). His class told the story of baby Jesus, sang us songs, and decorated cookies. The both got a Christmas book and a little stuff bear with candy canes stitched on the chest. Attached the bear was "The Meaning of the Candy Cane" - Many years ago, a candy maker wanted to make a candy that symbolized the true meaning of Christmas-Jesus. The hard candy was shaped like a "J" to represent Jesus' name. The color white strands for the pureness of Jesus. The color red represents the blood Jesus shed for us.

Their holiday artwork is so precious, I must share!
