Myrtle Beach Half Marathon

The largest/heaviest medals ever!
I'm not sure if you can believe it... but we sure can't!  I finished my 4th half marathon this week, that's 4 races in just 14 months.  Me = tired of long runs!  Erik's attempt at the MB Half was his 2nd race and he set a PR!

Erik & I took a very quick trip to Myrtle Beach - actually, we didn't even stay at the beach for 24 hours!  Erin Alessi (a great friend - ran VA Beach with me/TNT) joined us on the trip to meet Kim (my sis who flew in from Pittsburgh).  We made an appearance at the Expo, long enough to get our bibs/race packets and to scan the expo.  Hmmm, not sure how to put this in words but we all ran races that had over 20,000 participants which equals a huge expo.  The MB Half had about 4,000 participants so the 6 vendors on display at the expo... well, enough said.  We hit the beach for an hour and then had Melanie Needham (a great friend that was running her first half) over for dinner.  Our attempt to ease her nerves, didn't work... I think we made the nervous feeling of the unknown worse - oops!

We met at the medical tent -
romantic moment at the beach!
Race Day - We Ran & We ALL Rocked It!

~ Erik at 1:54:19 (PR - just to clarify that is an avg pace of 8:44 per mile!)

~ Steph at 2:19:25 (not a PR, but not my worse - woop woop)

~ Kim at 1:53:30 (PR - you get listed last sis, since it's our family blog but you get a little shout out for finishing 18th in your age group - whatever the age range is... congrats!)

It's our THIRD half marathon together - yeah!

Not sure... medal has a shark bite, so I'm taking a bite?
Thank you Annie for coming to support us!

Post Race - 8 hours later, back in Charlotte...
me and Kim are sipping wine with Kathy!
