Mountain Vacation

We decided to take our vacation in a different direction this year. We headed 9 hours north to the Poconos is PA. We spent the week with Aunt Nancy & Uncle Joe at their fabulous place in a little community outside Jim Thorpe, PA. The drive, we did it in one day... we made it (both ways), whew! Kim, Angelina, & Gabriella joined us for a few days. Cousins Doug & Maria also joined us for a few days and we had a quick one day visit with Grandma.

We played in the woods, feed the deer, and watched the baby black bear come and go throughout the week. We swam in the lake, played on the beach, and loved the fast slide at the park. We built a bonfire and roasted marshmallows (= lots of sugar for 4 small children). We spent the morning at Boulder Field and hiked to Hawk Falls where Owen & Camden played in the extremely cold water at the bottom of the waterfall. It was beautiful! Erik & Uncle Joe golfed and Aunt Nancy & I spent the day at a spa (compliments of Erik). Owen and Erik took daily rides on the 4wheeler (definitely the best part of the week for Owen). On the last day, Erik & I took our own adventure ride into the gamelands and through every mud puddle... the 4wheeler and both of us were covered in mud.

The best part of this trip was RELAXATION and plenty of it, all day and night. No plans and great weather. Thank you Uncle Joe & Aunt Nancy, it was a wonderful vacation and we look forward to next year.
