Owen's Fall Activities

Along with preschool, Owen is finishing up his 2nd eight week session of swim lessons. This is has been so much to watch him develop. He loves the water and pool. He does not hesitate to jump in and go under water, he loves it. The love for the water has been very slow to show his teacher, which has been interesting to watch. Now, after 12 weeks of swim lessons, he is doing great. He enjoys the teacher and follows excellent directions. He is learning to float on his back and belly. He is learning his kicks, swimming arms, putting his eyes in the water, listening to music under water, and of course the slide. I am so proud of Owen and his efforts and excitement to learn knew things. We will sign up for another 8 weeks of lesson for the fall. We will take the winter off and start back up in the spring.

Owen has also started a soccer clinic in the neighborhood with Coach Varna. He knows Coach Varna, as "Miss Varna" so this transition to neighbor/friend to coach has been funny. If I call her Miss, he corrects me "No, mom it's Coach Varna". We have completed 2 weeks of soccer and after a rough first class (just being new), he is getting the hang of class. He certainly loves to kick the soccer ball and is actually getting good at not using his hands. It's 30 minutes of games and fun. Camden comes with me and finds herself in the middle of the madness. Sometimes she listens more than the little 2 1/2 year olds!
