Owen at 22 1/2 months old!

Our precious Owen is all grown up and acting like a 4 year old (although we aren't sure what a child that age acts like)! Yes, he looks just like his daddy… mommy knows this and hears this all the time. However, Owen talks and talks, almost talks more than his mommy! He is putting 3 words together to make a small sentence but those of us around him on a daily basis are the only ones able to understand his dramatic tone as he says different words. Owen’s vocabulary consists of tons of words but a few worth sharing….

Mommy & Daddy are his words of choice but on a few occasions he repeated after mommy by saying “Erik”… we are long past the momma and dada stage. Our names are usually said in a loud, demanding voice… followed by either “no no” or “bye bye”. “Nina” is said probably 100x a day, Regina is our extended family as she takes care of both Owen & Camden. Kimberly is pronounced “emberlee”, Kim is pronounced “Keeeeeim”, Camden or Cammie is pronounced “baby” as he refuses to say her actual name (although we have caught him saying “Cammie” a few times), Joey (our dog) is pronounced “JoJo” and Brock (our other dog) is pronounced “JoJo” (he refused to give Brock his own name), Suzanne (Erik’s mother) is called “Bubba” and while Steve is called Grandpa, Owen associates him with “Bubba”! Larry (Steph’s father) is called “Poppy” and while Susan is called Grammie, Owen associates her with “Poppy”! “Aunt Anneee” is said very clear as he picks up a cell phone to pretend call his Aunt Annalise. We are working daily on learning/saying family names. It’s a lot to learn, combining our immediate families… 25 of us! While Owen does not watch much TV, he does have his favorites – “Ellemoww” (Elmo), “Bluues” (Blues Clues), “Wowwow” (Wow Wow Wubbsy), “E A GO” (Diego), “Ora” (Dora) and the list goes on. As he says new words and creates silly phrases, we will share them!
